Qiskit Fall Fest Lecture day
In-person lectures and hands-on Qiskit labs, with speakers from IBM Quantum and the Serbian quantum community, built on IBM’s official learning materials. Quantum foundations in the morning, running real circuits by the afternoon — timed so students from outside Belgrade can travel there and back in a day.

The hackathon
One day, small teams, three Serbia-relevant challenge tracks — everything built with Qiskit, one week after the lectures so you arrive ready. Places are limited to around 50 and selected by application — tick the hackathon box when you register below.

About the challenge
Every track starts from a real quantum use case — assessed for technical maturity, matched against its classical baseline, and chosen for its relevance to Serbia’s industry and research strengths. You’ll know exactly what you’re solving, why the problem matters, and which quantum tools apply. No deep quantum training required to enter: each challenge comes with beginner-friendly framing, recommended tools, and clear judging criteria. Plan on Qiskit — it’s the framework for the whole event, resources are shared ahead of time, and the Fall Fest lecture day the weekend before gets you comfortable with it.
Candidate challenge tracks
Quantum optimization for logistics and infrastructure — routing, scheduling, and allocation problems drawn from sectors where Serbia already runs deep.
Quantum algorithms for data science — bringing quantum methods to the datasets and models Serbian teams already work with every day.
Quantum communications and cybersecurity — the networks, and the post-quantum defenses, the next decade will run on.
The final challenge tracks are being selected now, guided by a structured review of which quantum use cases are technically ready, relevant to Serbia, and right-sized for a student weekend. Register below and you’ll be the first to know when they’re announced.
